Graham Marshall is a Senior Fellow (Honorary) in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Melbourne and Co Manager of Certain Knowledge. He has worked on a range of programs in over 80 Victorian government and Catholic schools on leadership development and school improvement issues in the last 10 years. He is currently working with a Melbourne University team which, in conjunction with Hay Group, has developed and implemented a major national executive leadership development program, Leading Australia’s Schools for 400 leading school principals across the country in the five years to 2010. He has conducted performance reviews of many schools in Victoria, the Northern Territory and Hong Kong. |
He has acted as a consultant on leadership development to the National Centre on Education and the Economy in the United States and has worked with a Victorian team on a major education reform program involving school leaders in Hong Kong. He has also contributed to, and co-authored a report on Special Education for the Education and Manpower Bureau, Hong Kong which focused on the issues of leadership and improvement.
He has worked on developing policy advice and high level implementation strategies with four state systems and the Victorian Catholic system in the areas of high level leadership development, school improvement, performance management and curriculum provision.
His previous position was that of General Manager, Human Resources Division in the Victorian Department of Education Employment and Training and, in that position had considerable experience of school leadership issues, including leadership development, in Victorian government schools. He is a Fellow of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders and has had 16 years experience as a secondary teacher.
He has also contributed to a number of publications on the issues of school leadership, improvement and performance management.
